Aurora & Taz - An Iconic Jewish Wedding at the Natural History Museum

Imagine the grand Hintze Hall at the Natural History Museum, transformed within a mere 90 minutes to host just under 400 guests for an Out of This World-themed wedding reception.

The task at hand was nothing short of extraordinary, but with a team of dedicated professionals and a vision that soared beyond the stars, the stage was set for an unforgettable celebration.

The Brief

Deliver a wedding that incorporates all the traditions of the Jewish faith whilst providing guests with a mesmerising ‘Out of This World ’-themed celebration experience.

The Story Of The Day

Our celestial celebration began with the Tish, which took place before the ceremony at Lauderdale Road Synagogue in Maida Vale. Aurora and Taz had beautiful textured light blue kippot that were personalised with their names and wedding date, for their guests.

After the ceremony, Aurora and Taz went into their Yichud before having family photos. A white luxury taxi then chauffeured Aurora, Taz and her parents to the Natural History Museum for a celebration of galactic magnificence.

Wedding guests who had been transported from the Synagogue by vintage red double-decker buses entered through the iconic Natural History Museum façade, along Fossil Way to the grand Hintze Hall, where they were greeted by an enchanting planetary atmosphere.

The whole space had been artfully transformed by the visionary teams of Larry Walshe Studios and Bespoke Events, elevating the main staircase to a virtual stairway to the heavens, with orbs tumbling down to create a stunning backdrop for the Sensation Band who played an entrance song, creating an electrifying atmosphere as guests marvelled at the surroundings.

LED candles intertwined with the orbs, casting a soft glow on the floral designs that danced between them. A star show illuminated the main wall, using different stars and planet washes to mimic the night sky. As the summer sun set, the wall came alive, setting the stage for a night filled with magic and wonder.

Finally, Aurora and Taz were welcomed into the room with Israeli dancing and the Horah, where the newlyweds are lifted into the air on the chairs while their family and friends danced around them as well as dancing under the Shtick.

Tony Page Catering curated fabulous food stations, and cocktails and champagne flowed throughout the space. The guests were treated to a culinary journey that matched the grandeur of the event, enhancing the overall experience.

As the night unfolded, it became clear that this was not just a wedding; it was a cosmic celebration of love, joy, and the extraordinary. This was a wedding that will forever be etched in the memory of those fortunate enough to witness its splendour.

The Concept

An aurora is a natural light display that shimmers in the sky, created by ionic streams (or solar winds) that begin on the Sun. Little wonder then, that our bride should look to the stars as inspiration for her perfect day. From the ethereal softness of her dress to the atmospheric lighting that transformed an icon of our natural history into a space that transcended time itself.

Notes

The theme was 'Out of This World' and the large orbs installed on the main staircase in Hintze Hall were there to create the drama and nod to planets with the stars and atmospheric lighting projected onto the North wall in purples and warm whites to create a wash of the galaxy.

The theme followed through to the wonderfully creative food from Tony Page, whose culinary delights were presented in such a way as to echo the axial revolution of our solar system.

With a packed schedule, timing was crucial. From Israeli dancing to Hamotzi, welcome speeches to toasts, and Grace after meals, the logistics were a challenge. Yet, the teams flawlessly executed the plan, ensuring every moment was savoured, celebrated and seamlessly woven into the fabric of the evening.

Capturing every moment of this celestial celebration was the incredibly talented Holly Clark Photography, whose lens skilfully immortalized the enchanting atmosphere, the intricate details, and the joy that radiated throughout the night. Holly's images encapsulate the magic of Aurora and Taz's love story, serving as timeless mementoes for the couple and their guests.

Additionally, the Forever Curious team expertly crafted a video that beautifully narrates the entire event, ensuring that the memories will be cherished for a lifetime. Together, their artistry has brought to life the extraordinary beauty and emotion of this iconic Jewish wedding at the Natural History Museum, creating a visual masterpiece that echoes the sentiments of this unique planetary alignment.

Summary

In just six months, a dedicated team of 150 individuals worked tirelessly to transform Aurora and Taz’s dreams into a celestial reality. The iconic Jewish wedding at the Natural History Museum was a testament to the power of creativity, collaboration and meticulous planning.
